How to refresh your physical space (on a budget!)
Swap in spring fragrances
With just a candle or diffuser, you can make your home smell like a trip to the spa, a fresh-cut bouquet, or a walk on the beach.
Switch out throw pillow covers
You can find tons of affordable options at retailers like Amazon, so you can try out a fun new color or pattern for cheap.
Add in pops of color
If you own any brightly colored decor, now’s the time to make good use of it. Throw blankets, pillows, and decorative items like vases or artwork are great for this.
Swap out table decor
You may not take the time to update your table runner or place mats on a regular basis, but spring is a great opportunity to swap them out with some fresh patterns and bright colors. Get rid of dark, moody colors and lean into pastels, shades of white, or bright pops of color instead
Bring the outdoors in
Adding greenery to your space has tons of benefits, and there’s no wrong way to do this—whether you buy a new indoor houseplant or simply plunk a bouquet of fresh flowers into a vase is totally up to you! Either way, you’ll definitely be feeling the springtime vibes.
How to refresh your mental space:
Journal prompts for your work life:
When did I feel most energized or engaged by my work?
Which tasks or projects made time fly by?
When did I receive positive feedback or feel genuinely proud of what I accomplished?
What tasks or meetings consistently left me feeling drained or frustrated?
When did I procrastinate the most, and on what kind of work?
Were there moments when I felt undervalued, overwhelmed, or out of alignment with my values?
How do you want to feel when you start your workday?
What activities help you get closer to that feeling?
What tasks can you realistically commit to at the start of each workday?
How to spring-clean your wellness routine:
Reflect on your current self-care practices—are they actually filling your cup? Tune into what your mind and body need RN, and adjust accordingly. Whatever self-care looks like for you, it will fluctuate day to day.
Choose a challenge that puts yourself first.
(may we suggest The Everygirl’s 31-Day “Spring-Clean Your Life”, Hotter 75, Winter Arc, or 365 Moderate)
Combine multiple acts of self-care into one session to take the pressure of time-consuming self-care out of the equation. Think: using red light therapy + DIY-ing a lymphatic drainage massage + practicing affirmations—all in one go.
Make sure your self-care routine is really caring for you
We love elaborate skincare routines and bubble baths in the name of self-care, but if your routine does not genuinely leave you less stressed, more joyful, and more at peace than when you started, it’s not self-care.
Now that we’ve decluttered…let’s re-stock that closet!!
