I relate to this so much!! I also got my degree in Marketing because I felt that it would be a lucrative career path, and honestly, I didn't know what else to do with my life. At my last job, I was expected to be online and available pretty much 24/7 so I was constantly bombarded with texts and emails. It stressed me out so much having essentially zero work/life balance that I would cry every night after I logged off and could barely sleep because I was dreading the next workday so much. I made upwards of 100k annually at that job, but I quit just over a year ago because I couldn't take the stress anymore. I completely switched industries and took a HUGE pay cut, but I have never been happier. I'm so grateful I was able to find something that better suits my personality and values. It really is true what they say - pursue what you love!
She was wonderful to share her work/life experiences. I love her honesty. Finding work that is tolerable is the most realistic and rewarding thing to do in any career path. But I sure hope she finds room for hobbies and time to pursue the career that fulfills her. 🙏💛
This was a great interview! My heart breaks that this woman experiences so much anxiety at her current employer, and I truly wish her the best in finding a new career path.
